CHRONOLOGY

Writing a chronology is a cumbersome task. This I remember from the year I composed one for the monograph on my work
and my ceramic involvement. It was as if I had to go on an archeological dig for dates and facts in my professional past.
Today I prefer a different kind of chronology, one based on the course of my work.
The path of my life with clay is marked by themes. I always loved to make pots, wheel thrown or slab built, but I was most
involved in clay, when I tackled a new issue on my work table.
Time and again an idea would strike me, an event would hit me, and I would turn to my medium as for a solution.
Even today I am amazed, how clay never failed to let me express my concern, frustration or wonder.
From my side, I took great care to let clay, however painful the subject, hold its traditional character and beauty.
On these web pages I would like to include a few images from themes which have engaged me over the years.
The more usual - and up-to 1991 accurate - chronology can be found in the monograph below:

I started an extra page for these data and even found myself adding extensive notes.
